Paint manufacturers are now striving to make their paints, stains, and finishes more environmentally safe. Fewer paints, nowadays, are still laden with VOC’s and off-gassing. Off-gassing contributes to indoor air pollution when drying. Benjamin Moore has revolutionized their products, and it’s now rare to see paints laden with toxic chemicals. Just 60 years ago manufactures were using lead and oil in their paints. Now, lead is non-existent and oil is not the norm. Lead testing can now done (along with asbestos) to see if your older home still has these around. Just ask us. Safety measures can be taken to ensure the health of you and your family during home-improvement.
